Friends of the Library

Consider becoming a Friend of the Library

Friends of the Library volunteer their time to assist in fundraising activities for the library. By organizing book sales and assisting in library events, Library Friends provide valuable assistance to the libraries they care so much about. If you are passionate about libraries and are interested in helping LML please ask a staff member for a volunteer form.

Visit the Library's Thrift Shop

The library sells vintage cameras, film equipment, albums and magazines such as Life and Look. The Thrift Shop offers a collection of handmade children's toys that make great gifts. The library accepts donations of materials to place on sale in the Thrift Shop.


Goodsearch

Search and Shop through GoodSearch

You can financially support the Laughlin Memorial library by doing your internet searching and shopping through GoodSearch.com. For most of your searches, the LML will receive about a penny. If you make purchases through GoodSearch partners, the library can receive up to 3% of your purchase price as a donation.


Donation of Materials

You can give a gift to the library in denominations of $10, $25, $50 and above to have honorariums or memorials placed in new library materials. These gifts are a perfect way to acknowledge the achievements of someone you hold special or to signify the memory of a loved one.


Recycling Box

Donate to the Library through Recycling

LML receives $5 to $15 per ton for recyclable materials. The library's Abitibi Paper Retriever bin is located in the Ambridge Do It Best parking lot at 500 Ohio River Boulevard. The recycling program accepts: newspapers, magazines, catalogs, mail, envelopes, folders, copy and colored paper. The program does not accept phone books or cardboard.

You can give a gift to the library in denominations of $10, $25, $50 and above to have a honorariums or memorials placed new library materials of matching value. These gifts are a perfect way to acknowledge the achievements of someone you hold special or to signify the memory of a loved one.

Donate to the Library through Recycling

The Laughlin Memorial Library opened to the citizens of Ambridge on July 6, 1929 when the building was formally dedicated and turned over to the Ambridge Free Library Association by the Alexander Laughlin Family. The building, a gift to Ambridge, is a memorial to their son Alexander Laughlin, Jr. Consider making the Laughlin Memorial Library a part of your will. It will be a lasting tribute to you and continue to invest in your community. Talk with your attorney, accountant or financial planner regarding a gift to the library.
